What Is A Monoblock Refrigeration Unit?

Monoblocks are plug-in refrigeration units pre-loaded with refrigerant, and are an entirely self-contained system that can be installed through the wall or as a straddle unit.

Plug and play system are ideal for quick and easy installation, and MTH monoblock refrigeration systems are a high quality and reliable – ensuring your cold rooms maintain the internal temperatures required.

Monoblocks have a wide span of temperatures that they can maintain. This includes chilled temperatures (walk-in fridges, chiller cold rooms) between +1°C / +8°C and frozen temperatures (walk-in freezers, freezer cold rooms) down to -25°C.

Monoblock Refrigeration Units by MTH

We have a selection of MTH monoblock refrigeration units on our E-commerce shop, with have a stainless-steel structure with an external cover, that are ideal for a range of business applications.

Monoblock refrigeration units on the MTCSS shop from MTH are the UMZ and UMT series – which are designed for wall-mounted applications within your cold rooms.

MTH monoblock units are supplied with:

  • A control panel complete with a control unit and autonomous ignition (On/Off) switch
  • Electrical defrosting of the evaporator unit with adjustable frequency
  • Condensation collection tray (complete with a coil for the evaporation and overflow pipe)
  • Cold room door resistance power cable
  • Cold room door micro switch for ventilation exclusion
  • Cold room light (with a lamp and ceiling light)

As well as the above, monoblocks by MTH have options to suit a range of cold room sizes and capacities, and are low-noise electric fans. They can also be used for both chiller (+5°C to -5°C) and freezer (-15°C to -25°C) cold room applications.

Monoblock Refrigeration System Installation – Straddle and Through Wall

Monoblocks use a singular tower configuration that fits through the wall, or straddle, of a cold room. They are self-contained, sealed systems that are ideal for use either in confined (well-ventilated) spaces or as part of a walk-in cold room to optimise storage.

The type of monoblock capacity you need depends on the size of your cold room. EG; if your cold room measures 3m x 3m x 3m, then you would require a 27m3 capacity.

Our straddle and through wall monoblock range from MTH, includes monoblock refrigeration systems to suit small to medium capacity cold rooms. However, if you can’t find the capacity that’s right for you – get in contact with our team today!

Benefits of Monoblock Refrigeration Systems

There are several benefits to using a monoblock unit within your cold room that contribute towards enhancing your products. Some of these benefits are:

Easy to Install

No pipework is required to install your system, meaning that you can start refrigerating your products as soon as you’ve set it up! Which is especially beneficial if you have products that are high-risk or must be kept fresh.

This ease of installation, combined with the high-quality construction provides you with a durable, innovative and technologically advanced product that you can rely on to efficiently refrigerate your products.

Self-Contained Unit

As monoblocks are an individual system, they don’t require any additional units outside – this is beneficial if your business has little/no access to the outside, as you’re still able to reliably refrigerate everything with just one unit!

This makes monoblocks a better choice for business that have limited premises access compared to a split refrigeration system.

Economic Option

Installing a monoblock refrigeration unit compared to a split refrigeration systems can be lower cost for your business. As they are self contained, they do not require additional pipework installation, and as there is one unit, as opposed to two, the installation time can be quicker and easier.

Compact

Everything for your monoblock is together, in the same place – this can make it a lot easier for both monoblock maintenance and cleaning to occur.

For example, the single cover bonnet has been designed specifically to allow for quick maintenance interventions!

Energy Saving

MTH’s range of monoblock units have the potential to save your business energy, compared to older, less efficient refrigeration systems.

Not only are these units high-quality and reliable (saving you energy anyways in comparison to a refrigeration system that is running inefficiently, costing you more money in the long-run) but they are also optimised to achieve the maximum ratio between the energy output and the amount of energy absorbed.

Our E-commerce shop holds a selection of straddle and through wall monoblock units for both walk-in fridge and walk-in freezer applications.

We also stock a huge range of cold room spares and parts for your cold rooms, cold room doors and temperature-controlled solutions too! Don’t see the part you’re after? Get in contact with our team today, as we’ll always try to source the part you’re after.
