Benefits and differences of on-site and off-site refrigerated cabinet refurbishment
MTCSS Retail work with some of the UK’s biggest food and drink retailers, offer refrigerated display cabinet refurbishment and front of house refurbishment nationwide. And our expert team of engineers and project managers can offer both on-site and off-site refurbishment.
The MTCSS Retail team can tailor the display cabinet refurbishment process dependent on your store specifications, the level of refurbishment you require and your time frames. But we can also offer on-site and off-site refrigerated cabinet refurbishment to suit your requirements.
Differences Between On-Site and Off-Site Cabinet Refurbishment
The difference between these two types of refurbishments is in the name. On-site cabinet refurbishment is carried out with the range of refrigerated display cabinets in-situ on the shop floor, with no requirement to move the cabinets from the store.
Off-site refurbishment is carried out outside of the store. The MTCSS team will remove the cabinets from the store shop floor and transport them to our warehouse, where our engineers will carry out a full cabinet refurbishment based on our site audit and quotation. Once main refurbishment works are complete, they are transported and re-fitted on site, and any final works are completed.
But what are the benefits of each type of refurbishment?
Benefits of On-Site Refrigerated Cabinet Refurbishment
There are a range of benefits to carrying out on-site cabinet refurbishment, including:
- Refurbishment time is reduced, compared to off-site refurbs, as the cabinets don’t need to be transported elsewhere
- Cabinets can be left in-situ on the shop floor and don’t need to be moved
- Stores can remain open during normal hours, with refurbishment works carried out when closed
However, there are limitations to on-site refurbishment as there is less control and poorer access compared to off-site refurbishments.
Benefits of Off-Site Refrigerated Cabinet Refurbishment
Choosing off-site refurbishment can lead to improved levels of refurbishment and cleanliness, in addition to other benefits that include:
- More time to carry out refurbishment with no limitations when adhering to store opening / closing hours
- Better access to elements of the cabinet which could be concealed or inaccessible in-situ
- Cabinet bases can be cleaned and painted – whereas painting is not possible on-site
- Higher levels of cleaning can be carried out – cabinets and shelves can be jet-washed as opposed to hand cleaned
- Cabinets can be cleaned and fully dried before any further works are carried out
- Cabinet spraying can be carried out with improved accessibility and quality
- Other in-store works can also be carried out whilst the cabinets are off-site, for example: floor replacements, ceiling changes, internal decorating and more
