Different Types of Temperature-Controlled Rooms
MTCSS Contracts are experts when it comes to designing temperature-controlled rooms to suit your industry, business and product requirements. However, there are a range of cold storage rooms that we design, supply and build:
1. Walk-In Fridges
Walk-in fridges (also known as chiller cold rooms) are suitable for a range of industries and can maintain positive temperatures between +1 and +10 degrees, allowing your product to stay consistently chilled.
2. Walk-In Freezers
Freezer cold rooms are used to store and preserve products that need to be frozen (or kept frozen) and can maintain negative temperatures between -5 and -40 degrees.
There are also various other types of freezer cold rooms: holding freezers, blast freezers and pull-down freezers.
Holding freezers are a type of walk-in freezer, but used specifically for storing products that are already frozen. Pull down freezers are walk-in freezers that are used to freeze chilled or ambient products.
Blast freezers use more powerful refrigeration systems than standard freezer cold rooms, in order to freeze the chilled and ambient products quicker than a pull-down freezer – often within a specific time frame.
3. Ambient Rooms
Ambient rooms (without temperature control) are rooms constructed from cold room panels and are often used to create food safe spaces for production areas, for example within the farming industry.
4. Ambient Temperature Controlled Rooms
Ambient rooms with temperature control are able to maintain positive temperatures between +10 and +30 degrees, and are commonly used to store products that require a specific positive temperature (in order to protect product quality is maintained).
5. Internal & External Cold Rooms
Cold rooms from MTCSS can also be built internally or externally!
If you don’t have sufficient space inside your building, we can create weatherproof external cold rooms to suit all your requirements.
Alternatively, if you have a certain area inside your building, we can utilise the space you have and create a bespoke cold room design that’s perfect for you.
6. Dual Compartment & Multi Compartment Cold Rooms
Dual and multi-compartment cold rooms are cold rooms split into two (or several) compartments with a partition wall(s) made from cold room panels.
They are ideal if you need to store different products at different temperatures, as they can have various combinations of temperature ranges: freezer to freezer, chiller to freezer, chiller and ambient and more!
7. Cleanrooms
Cleanrooms are a contained space designed to reduce contamination and control other environmental parameters.
Typically used within the medical and pharmaceutical industries, cleanrooms can be suited to your individual specifications and classifications to ensure we adhere to your business requirements.
